The high-carbon martensite stainless wire rod of grade 3Cr13 was produced at stainless production line of steel making mills recently.
The biggest difference between this grade 3Cr13 and other martensite grade such as 1Cr13、2Cr13 is its higher heat stress which is easy to have production and quality problems of breakout and CC billet sag. Pointing to this condition, the mill made repeating discussion and identification about possible problems in smelting and casting process of new developed grade combined to earlier experiences and practices in martensite stainless steel products. Meanwhile, considering diversification of stainless products out put in this round, the mill also adjusted their production plan to avoid total stainless products orders being effected because of any possible problem in new grade production.
It is reported that the casting cycle is successful with satisfactory chemical content and surface quality of billet according to result of data statistics and preliminary test, which marked the martensite stainless products of Xingtai Steel achieved 3 varieties in 8 series. In addition, the mill processed serious conclusion and discussion and perfected related operation standard after clearing up related data and outliers appeared in this trial production which has offered support for promoting the quality of new grade next.
